1000 times professional security for Averatec customers

Phoenix FirstWare Recover Pro exclusive for newly registered customers

When it comes to security, Averatec continues to offer features which have tradi-tionally been exclusive to professional notebook users. Averatec now launches a

security initiative in cooperation with Phoenix Technologies, one of the globally lead-ing manufacturers of system diagnose and recovery software. The initiative is launched alongside the introduction of Averatec’s two brand new 1000 and 4200 notebook series. Each new customer of a 1000 or a 4200 notebook who registers on www.averatec.co.uk from 1st May receives the complete Phoenix FirstWare Recover Pro version for free. The initiative enables not only the restart of the operating sys-tem after a virus attack or a system crash. Automated, daily back-ups onto hard disk, CD or DVD secure personal data as well as all installed applications and if worse comes to worst, can be recovered easily. Additionally, the package contains cME Guardian, which controls and protects the integrity of the back-ups.

"We’re fighting against the so-called notebook class society and this obviously includes the concept of security as well. Partners such as Phoenix Technologies enable us to con-tinually offer business features to the consumer users,” explains Andy King, General Manager of Averatec UK. He goes on to explain the companies strategy "Alongside the current initiative, which is limited to 1000 complete FirstWare Pro Versions for the time being, Averatec already offers more security than other more standard equipment. The standard recovery application of Averatec notebooks enables the operating system to regain its initially defined set ups. Beyond this, the back-up image is saved in a special "Protected pre-OS Workspace” on the hard disk and is protected much better than with traditional installations where the image is merely saved in a "hidden area”.
