TriGem announces international focus on notebooks and Averatec brand

Averatec set to play key role at Korean computer manufacturer

The Korean PC manufacturer TriGem has announced that it will be focusing internationally on notebooks and other portable products with high design and feature specifications.



Averatec, TriGem’s successful notebook subsidiary, will play a key role in this strategy. The focus on Averatec will happen as part of the forthcoming restructuring at TriGem, one of the leading computer manufacturers in the world.



By CeBIT in March 2006 an extended Averatec product range will be introduced. In September this year Averatec brought its 1000 and 3700 series to market, which strongly demonstrates the brand’s new direction. With premium design and stylish coloured covers, as well as the handy 10.6-inch widescreen and 12.1-inch format, Averatec is clearly differentiating itself from the mass of dull grey and black 14-inch and 15-inch notebooks which have until now dominated the shelves of the big retailers.



In addition, the Averatec Motto "Business Features for the Consumer” reflects Averatec’s commitment to deliver future models with guaranteed high levels of design and comprehensive features and formats all at a good price.



"The restructuring at TriGEm will give Averatec a powerful boost over the coming months,” says Bengt Stahlschmidt, managing director of Averatec Europe GmbH, who welcomed the move. TriGem is not only focusing on the US and European markets with Averatec, but is also targeting its domestic markets more strongly. Production capacity will be increased at short notice to allow TriGem to meet the demands of all its target markets.



In 2004, Averatec was able to establish itself in the top 5 notebook suppliers in the retail channel. In Korea, TriGem, with Averatec notebooks, is Number 3 in the market.
