BAUR Prüf- und Messtechnik: 2013 brings expansion of production and management

Already in its fourth successive year, the BAUR Prüf- und Messtechnik GmbH team in Sulz (Austria) looks back at high growth. At 24 million €, the year 2012 yielded the highest turnover in the history of the company. This positive development includes all business areas (cable fault location, cable testing and diagnostics, insulating oil testing). The unique feature is that the entire value addition has been produced at its headquarters with manufacturing facilities in Sulz, Vorarlberg/Austria. Customers appreciate this know-how across all continents in over 90 countries. In recent years, BAUR has clearly gained in Eastern Europe and Asia, thus creating more export-supporting pillars for the international growth of the company.

The commercial success of last year, on one hand, leads BAUR back to accelerated worldwide marketing and on-site presence. On the other hand, the requirements of BAUR customers have changed. More and more power suppliers are focussed on sustainable profitability. This trend is leading to a growing interest in intelligent testing and diagnostic technology. Subsequently, investments in electricity networks can be better planned and the maintenance cost-optimized. BAUR meets the growing need for hi-tech products by increasing its staff capacity right from product development to sales. At present, BAUR has a staff of more than 160 (as of 31 December 2012).

To respond to the market requirements in an agile and quality-optimized manner even in future, BAUR is planning a new administration and production building. The administration section will have more space, and the production area will have double the space. The ground-breaking ceremony could be held already in the second half of 2013.

45,000 Volts of Enthusiasm
On the occasion of the 100th Birthday of Josef Baur, BAUR published the highly thrilling history of BAUR Prüf-und Messtechnik. The book titled "45.000 Volt Begeisterung” (45,000 Volts of Enthusiasm) was announced at a gala evening that was attended by Governor Markus Wallner, the President of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce Manfred Rein and Labour Chamber President Hubert Hämmerle and is now available in bookstores.
