The Finnish energy provider Fortum OY (Espoo, Finland) decides for ProCom GmbH as supplier of an optimization platform for its combined power and heat portfolio. Fortum has an intention to roll out the chosen optimization solution across its present asset portfolio in Sweden, Finland, the Baltics, and Poland. Starting with Fortum’s Stockholm assets, ProCom’s energy production planning and optimization solution will help Fortum to improve production efficiency, reduce emissions due to fuel savings, and to streamline processes within its growing asset portfolio.
Together with Swedish Fortum Värme Samägt Med Stockholms Stad ProCom will implement Day-ahead and Intra-day planning for Stockholm’s complex combined power and heat production portfolio. By this means Fortum aims to increase the local energy efficiency of Fortum’s combined heat and power assets. This results in positive effects in terms of cost effectiveness and environmental protection. Dr. Andreas Nolden, Managing Director ProCom quotes: "We see strong potentials for Fortum in handling their different regional portfolios in a consistent way. It is a fascinating task for our team, to deliver this solution together with the local Fortum experts. This cooperation confirms ProCom’s decision to provide energy production planning solutions at an European level.”
