Ulm / Beckum, May 07, 2013. The PHOENIX Cement Works Krogbeumker GmbH & Co. KG, a long-established company within the Westphalian cement in-dustry, has decided to introduce the VAS IT logistics system by
FRITZ & MACZIOL. "Until now, we have had to manage the processes manually and on paper", said PHOENIX Plant Manager Kai Wagner in ex-planation of the company's reorientation. "With the aid of the VAS IT lo-gistics system, the processes within the cement works are now to be au-tomated gradually, and unmanned loading implemented across the plant". The next step will be the integration into a modern ERP system, which would replace the pre-existing solution. In addition, the processes of sack handling and material deliveries are to be integrated into the VAS IT logis-tics system. "The high flexibility and the possibility of stepwise optimisa-tion of our business processes were major criteria for deciding on FRITZ & MACZIOL. In addition, the VAS IT logistics system has already proven its practicability", explained Kai Wagner.
"We are delighted that the PHOENIX Cement Works has selected the VAS IT logistics system, in particular because PHOENIX is an exceptionally innovative company, and therefore a most important key customer in the small and medi-um-sized cement industry", said Claus Jordan, Director Business Development and Marketing Industrial Applications and Services at FRITZ & MACZIOL.

About VAS
VAS – the process-orientated software solution for the raw materials industry - forms the entire process chain from delivery via dispatch and loading, right up to departure. As the link between ERP systems and technical systems, VAS represents the key function and the 'adjusting screw' for efficient process sequences. In addition, VAS supports reporting functions and supplies real-time information to further systems, for example for Production, Sales or Controlling. All external technical systems such as the weighing, silo or metering technology are completely integrated into the VAS logistics system processes. VAS is cur-rently used in more than 140 plants worldwide within the raw materials industry.
