Enraf-Nonius new member of ZimmerGroup
Zimmer MedizinSysteme GmbH from Neu-Ulm in southern Germany is the new shareholder of Enraf-Nonius B.V., a Dutch market leader in the fields of phys-iotherapy and rehabilitation. Both companies are global players and look back on successful years. The aim of the cooperation is in particular to ex-pand the expertise in development and production and to jointly develop technologies in the future. Armin Zimmer, Managing Director of Zimmer MedizinSysteme, would like to further strengthen the position of both com-panies in the market for physical therapy: "Two brands with a long tradition are coming together here and are heading for a successful future together - and that in the context of significantly increased demands in the medical sector." At the signing of the contract in Rotterdam, the two Managing Direc-tors of Enraf, Len De Jong and Tom Doodkorte, were very enthusiastic about the possibilities created by the new partnership. "This cooperation combines innovative power and the global distribution network of both companies," said Len De Jong. Enraf-Nonius will remain an independent company within the ZimmerGroup. As such, both companies will maintain their market pres-ence with their own independent distribution network.
Founded in 1925 in the Netherlands, Enraf-Nonius has become a global player in the market for medical devices and rehabilitation products. Based in Rotterdam, the company is now one of the market leaders and currently generates annual sales of around 45 million euros with 90 employees. Both Enraf-Nonius and Zimmer MedizinSysteme have for years relied on innovative strength as well as in-house development and are reliable partners worldwide for the product areas of physio-therapy and rehabilitation. "Both companies have high synergies for sharing tech-nologies and regulatory standards however both companies will keep their own R&D and production, as well as individual entities.," explains Armin Zimmer.
Together strong
The physiotherapy market is highly fragmented, and the degree of fragmentation is forecast to increase further. Nevertheless, global growth is expected to be around $3.21 billion. To take advantage of these opportunities, market players must strengthen and maintain their position. Enraf-Nonius and Zimmer MedizinSysteme have responded by joining forces to strengthen their market positions. In this way, the steadily growing ZimmerGroup is paving the way for increasing innovative strength, economic stability and secure jobs.
