AVERATEC lightweights hit the UK market
Notebooks with professional features for the consumer market
Since its launch in 2002, AVERATEC has secured a market share of more than 6% in the US. The company now plans to shake up the UK laptop market with its high quality notebooks. In the US, the newcomer is already competing with high flyers such as Sony and Emachines.
AVERATEC offers high quality products, innovative features and attractive design at extremely competitive prices. In the UK, the notebook manufacturer provides its customers with a free service helpdesk for life and a one year Pick up, Repair&Return warranty.
This year, AVERATEC plans to establish itself as a major player in the UK notebook market to gain a stable position within the coming year regardless of fierce competition.
A goal within reach according to Bengt Stahlschmidt, Managing Director of AVERATEC Europe: "We are aiming at breaking up the notebook class society. Our products differentiate themselves from low cost operators through innovative design, cutting-edge features and efficient customer service. Nevertheless, our prices clearly undercut high-end notebook manufacturers.” Stahlschmidt’s aims are clearly defined: "The trend towards more mobility and anytime, anywhere wireless connectivity is unbroken, there is room for growth in the market and we won’t be solely listed under the ‘also-runs’.”
"AVERATEC has already secured deals with a major distributer and plans to extend mail order, e-commerce, reseller and retail channels in the UK for our new range of thin and light notebooks. I am sure that great products combined with next day delivery, superb service and higher than normal channel margins will enable AVERATEC to become a major force in the UK notebook market,” adds Andy King, AVERATEC UK General Manager.
The notebooks currently sold in the UK are the 3200 series, 3300 series and the 6200 series. All three series of notebooks come in slim line magnesium cases for increased mobility. All notebooks are equipped with wireless 802.11g and 60GB hard drives offering maximum mobility as the ideal travel companions. In addition, the 6200 series comes as an instant DVD player and wireless remote control facilities. DVDs can be watched at the click of a button without having to power the laptop. The 6200 series is also combined with a fully featured notebook.
Several publications such as PC Magazine in the US praised the slim-line laptops as the best value for money notebooks. Computer Shopper UK (March 2005) awards the AVERATEC 12” slim and light 3260 pilot series, top marks with 5 stars out of 5.
Korean multi-national TriGem, one of the top three PC manufacturers in the world, is the home of AVERATEC and backs the company with large amounts of technological resources to maintain its leading position in the US and to repeat the success story on the European markets. An increase in turnover from US$380million to US$1200 million is planned for the coming year.
