Another six KAMAG Interchangeable Lifting Trucks Wiesel

for the forwarding agent Meyer & Meyer in Osnabrück

Meyer & Meyer, one of the leading logistic service providers for the textile industry in Europe placed another order for six interchangeable lifting trucks – for different locations in Germany – with Ulm’s manufacturer of special vehicles, KAMAG Transporttechnik GmbH & Co. KG. These special vehicles – for their velocity and manoeuvrability called "Wiesel” (weasel) – are used to move about swap body containers and shunt trailers of semi-trailer units within logistic work yards.



The logistic service provider Meyer & Meyer has a branch network in Germany and abroad and is specialized in logistic solutions for the textile and automotive industry as well as for bicycle, furniture and containers. An on time coordination of all logistic operations is an absolute prerequisite for a successful internal transportation management. The KAMAG "Wiesel” hereby fulfil one of these important functions: transportation of swap bodies and manoeuvering of trailers to and from the doorways of the loading terminals.



The hydrostatic drive system favours especially the Wiesel for this task. The continuously changing forward and backward driving in combination with high driving speeds allows the on time interchange of swap bodies, even in peak periods.



At Meyer & Meyer there are already four Wiesel in service. On account of the good experience made, the fleet of these quick-response vehicles has been increased. Arnulf Beck, head of the fleet management in the Osnabrück headquarters: "With these six vehicles we will increase considerably the performance of our yard logistic system and guarantee the on time delivery for our customers."



KAMAG set itself up as market leader in the production of this type of vehicles. In the meantime, KAMAG "Wiesel" are found in all important logistic work yards within Germany and Europe.

The forwarding agent Meyer & Meyer specialized in the textile branch with headquarters in Osnabrück backs up its internal terminal logistics with the "Wiesel" manufactured by KAMAG in Ulm. An order for another 6 Wiesel was placed recently for different logistic work yards in Germany, additionally to the already existing vehicles.
