The TowBear of KAMAG is a tow tractor for versatile usage at airports, which have to handle airplanes in different weight categories. By an ingenious ballast system, the TowBear can be adjusted to the particular operating conditions, thanks to this system it is able to move airplanes of a big range efficiently. The TowBear of KAMAG is available in three general weight classes.
The variable KAMAG-Ballast-System allows the user to configurate the Tow Bear weight to fulfil its tasks with the highest efficiency. This is an important aspect, a constant moving of airplanes with over-dimensional tractors is as non-economic as the use of under-sized tractors. With the Ballast System of KAMAG a vehicle can be used in different load classes when using different loads. The ballast weight on the top can be removed or adjusted easily. In this way the tractor can be used economically, which means that the operating costs will finally be lowered.
With this KAMAG-Ballast-System a TowTractor is available today, which already meets the requirements of the A380 of tomorrow. As the Ballast-System is very variable, the TowBear can be perfectly configured that the actual requirements are met, adjusted to the actual type of airplanes. So the operating costs can be kept low. An additional ballast system, which is quickly adaptable, converts the TowBear into the adequate equipment when it is about to bring the A 380 in position.
