KAMAG delivers 320 ton transporter to China –
Delegation is coming to Ulm to take over
With a team of 5 persons the vice president of the Chinese shipyard Wuchang visited KAMAG Transporttechnik GmbH & Co. KG. The reason for the manufacturer of heavy load vehicles in Ulm, to take over a new shipyard transporter. Shortly the transporter will be shipped to China.
"Already twenty years ago we took over our first KAMAG transporter" explained Mr. Yan Yukai, the vice president of the shipyard in Wuchang, from North-Eastern China. It is already the third shipyard transporter that the special vehicle manufacturer KAMAG builds for this Chinese customer. With a payload of approx. 320 tons it is also the biggest vehicle delivered so far to this shipyard. The reason why the responsible persons of the Wuchang-Shipyard decided to buy KAMAG transporters, explained Mr. Yan Yukai: "KAMAG provides an excellent vehicle technology with a very high standard of quality, and above all, we appreciate the personal support of the specialists of KAMAG in sales and service. This convinced us to buy our product in Ulm. We are sure, that this will not be our last time to take over a vehicle here" amended the vice president, who came personally, together with 5 specialits to take over the shipyard transporter.
In the future, the vehicle with its 48 tyres called "Platform Lifting Truck" , will transport pre-fabricated components for bridges. Those are produced as a steel construction in the shipyard. The loading platform which is with 18 x 5,1 metres as big as a detached house, can be lifted and lowered hydraulically. In this way they can drive under, lift and transport the components produced on supports. According to Mr. Yan Yukai there is an immense demand for Bridges in China, which have to be built for the construction of the road infrastructure. The Wuchang-Shipyard, which belongs to the CSIC (China Shipbuilding Highway Industry Corporation), benefit from of the KAMAG transporter in the following years.
China, which is one of the most important markets for KAMAG Transporttechnik, alredy takes the third place in the world after Korea and Japan, considering the capacity of their shipyard industry. For many years KAMAG has delivered special purpose vehicles to shipyards and to other industries in China.
