The KAMAG Transporttechnik GmbH & Co. KG will show on the this year’s trade fair "TRANSPOTEC LOGITEC” in Milano from 27.- 30. April 2006 a new generation of its "Wiesel³”, in hall 22, stand M19-N18, which is one of the most performing special-purpose-vehicles to interchange swap body containers on terminals and logistic work yards. With the slogan "Swap to profit” KAMAG shows, that the "Wiesel³”, is bearing a lot of innovation and offers even more economic efficiency to the user.
Our new serial driver’s cabin from the ATEGO production series of Daimler Chrysler offers a comfortable, ergonomically designed workplace for the user. Our control panel is clearly designed and is in the immediate vicinity of the driver. The lowered driver’s cabin is designed for easy access, which is a special advantage if the driver has to leave the cabin frequently (closing and opening the doors of the swap bodies, etc.). All functions are designed for an economic one man’s operation.
The Diesel engine is as well taken from the serial program of Daimler Chrysler. Thanks to its wide steering angle of 60°, the "Wiesel³” is extremely manoeuvrable, like a car. The frequency of the operations per hour of the "Wiesel³” underlines the economic efficiency of the design of this vehicle.
An extensive catalogue of additional equipments allows the user to configurate his "Wiesel³” according to the specific requirements:
The optional hydraulically lift- and lowerable fifth-wheel-coupling to manoeuvre semi-trailers can now be unlocked pneumatically with a remote control from the driver’s place. The total lift up to 1.350mm enables the transport of all current models semi-trailers, without having to retract the supporting beams. With the automatic trailer coupling (optional) at the rear end, any kind of truck trailers can be pulled and manoeuvred. Because of the clear arrangement of the driver’s cabin this operation is best supported.
An ABS-socket (optional) guarantees the control of the trailer brakes while manoeuvring. Maintenance work can be minimized by a central lubrication system (optional). An air conditioning system is available for the driver’s cabin (optional) which creates an optimal inside temperature.
The exposed vehicle presents another optionally available safety device, the hydraulic locking container with load recognition. A sensor recognizes, if a swap body container is picked up and releases the drive only when the container is locked. This safety device guarantees that the transport is only started when the container is locked; in no load operation, the interlock can be considered regardless.
As well as it successors, the "Wiesel³” can obtain the permission to drive on public roads, according to the StVZO (Road traffic regulations).
"Swap to Profit” is the slogan of Kamag’s presentation of their "Wiesel³”.
This points out to the economic efficiency which is the standard offered by the "Wiesel³” to its user.
Long maintenance intervals of 1000 operating hours are standard of the "Wiesel³”. Those are possible because of the nearly abrasion-free hydrostatic drive. Thanks to the use of serial parts and components the "Wiesel³” is highly serviceable. The fuel consumption is under 5 litres per operating hour. For all these reasons the "Wiesel³” is indispensable for terminals and logistic work yards where an efficient handling of containers is the requirement for an economic work yard logistics.
