Kässbohrer SSK 60 tipping silo semi-trailer -
latest technology with proven design for low tare weight
From 13 to 22 October, Kässbohrer, a division of the TIRSAN Group, presents the latest generation of the SSK-line at this year’s RAI fair in Amsterdam. Representing the whole line, the SSK 60, a tipping silo semi-trailer with a load capacity of 60 cubic metres and low tare weight due to its aluminium design, is going to be presented to the experts.
With its tare weight of about 6,400 kg for the basic type, the Kässbohrer SSK 60 is one of the lightest tipping silo semi-trailers of its kind. However, despite its low weight, the technical design of the vehicle ensures stability and robustness, entities which products made by Kässbohrer have always been famous for. The tipping silo semi-trailer, which is mostly used in the plastic-processing, the chemical and also in the foodstuff-producing industry, has been designed for easy, simple and thorough cleaning.
The silo container rests on an aluminium chassis, which ensures extremely soft and comfortable caster behaviour of the semi-trailer due to an air-suspended, six-wheel axle aggregate with disk brake. The "Kässbohrer Extra”: "Double T” extruded aluminium profiles are used for the chassis to cope with the highest strain without any traces..
The screwed support brackets in the chassis frame in combination with the support sheet metals at the container enable a very good lead and give the container a stable position while driving. The trailer platform, the container supports and the cross-members as well as the proven Kässbohrer tipping shaft at the rear form a stable combination and give a safe standing position during tipping, even at the full tipping angle of about 48 degree. Two mechanic props at the rear which can be operated manually, but which can also be delivered with hydraulic operation if requested, further stabilise the tipping silo semi-trailer during the tipping process.
The outlet and ventilation box (DN 700/200) at the rear of the container is closed with an aluminium lid in the standard version, which can be opened and locked in the open position during cleaning. The lid, which is fastened with 6 toggle screws, is also available in high-grade steel. The ventilation system, which is available in various types depending on the sort of commodity to be transported, is behind the lid.
The emptying is done with an air pressure of up to 2 bar, and here the available amount of air is controlled effectively between the loosening-up air, the upper air and the transport air via an air distribution battery at the rear of the vehicle. This makes sure that the container can be emptied completely.
If necessary, cartridges for fine strainers for pressure air cleaning can be installed in between.
The SSK 60 is equipped with 5 filling domes (DN 450) which are closed with aluminium lids. The Kässbohrer knack: at the ends of the toggle screws are rubber buffers with help avoiding defects in the paint work of the container surface. The screw holes on the aluminium dome lids as well as the outlet lids are equipped with high-grade steel pressure disks in order to ensure a continuously strong starting torque.
The 400m catwalk on the left can be reached via an aluminium ladder which simultaneously opens a safety device against falling when unfolding the lowest step. All operation elements are in accordance with accident prevention regulations. Apart from a plastic hose rest at the side, the standard scope of delivery also encompasses an aluminium tool box.
For the transport of hazardous materials, the SSK 60 (like all other SSK types) is available in the according ADR/GGVSE design (Regulation for the transport of hazardous goods on road and railway).
