New product launch at bauma 2007: The "SPMT 3000-SPIC" from SCHEUERLE
The new, self-propelling and electronically steered heavy load combination modules with 3-metre widt
At its stand, located on the Open-Air Area North, SCHEUERLE is presenting another highlight for the heavy-duty transportation sector during the upcoming bauma trade fair in April: the SPMT 3000-SPIC heavy load module as self-propelled vehicle complete with hydrostatic drive. The innovative features: the SPMT 3000-SPIC is 3 metres wide, a driving position of only 1,190 mm high and is electronically steered. In addition, the SPMT 3000-SPIC is compatible to the range of pulled heavy load units from the SCHEUERLE InterCombi program. The way is open to the customer to form self-propelled heavy load combinations with low designed modular vehicles and, if so required, to combine with trailer units from the existing fleet of vehicles.
The SPMT 3000-SPIC, which is available in module units with 4 and 6 axle lines, supplements the SCHEUERLE programme in the modular heavy load vehicle sector. Apart from the pulled heavy load units available in its Combi programme, SCHEUERLE also offers hydrostatically-driven and electronically-steered heavy load combination vehicles in the form of the SPMT series. The SPMT 3000-SPIC series extends the product range even further with an efficient line of vehicles for transporting loads up to 15,000 tonnes.
The three metre wide SPMT 3000-SPIC now closes the gap between the Combi series and the standard SPMT. Having equipped the mechanically-steered InterCombi units with a hydrostatic drive system in the past, the SPMT 3000-SPIC now combines all advantages. As with the InterCombi series, the vehicle is 3 metres wide, hydrostatically driven and comes equipped with electronic steering. Driving manoeuvres such as normal drive, circular drive, crab or transversal drive can easily be carried out with the SPMT 3000-SPIC steering programs. SPMT 3000-SPIC units coupled together to form larger vehicle groups can also be used for transporting large and heavy loads, ideal for use in industry and the off-shore sector.
Through the vehicle width of 3 metres and the 1,800 mm wheel track, the SPMT 3000-SPIC offers extraordinary stability also with high load centres. The strong vehicle frame is supported on twin-tire pendulum axles which have an axle load of 28 tonnes at 10 km/h and 40 tonnes at 0.5 km/h in each case. The large pendulum axle steering angle of +/- 140 degrees makes the SPMT 3000-SPIC extremely manoeuvrable in connection with the electronically-controlled steering. If the SPMT 3000-SPIC is coupled with mechanically-steered trailer units from the InterCombi programme, the steering angle can be modified corresponding to the possibilities of the trailer units to 60 degrees.
Driving takes place via a coupled PPU (power pack unit) Z 340, which has a width of 2,850 mm in this instance. It is equipped with diesel engine, hydraulic aggregates and a complete electronic control system including the cable remote control. On request, further additional equipment can also be fitted such as operator´s cab and radio remote control.
With this product extension, SCHEUERLE has demonstrated its expertise once again for the heavy load sector. With the SPMT 3000-SPIC, a product is now available which offers customers with trailer fleets the possibility of conveniently integrating self-propelled transportation technology.
