SCHEUERLE Heavy Duty Transport Combination for Sicily
The Sicilian forwarder Trasporti Terminali Siciliani S.r.l. has ordered a heavy duty low-bed trailer combination, brand SCHEUERLE. This fifth wheel combination consists of a removable, hydraulic universal gooseneck, a 3-axle platform trailer in front, a telescopically adjustable excavator deck and a 5-axle platform trailer unit at rear. The combination is designed for a payload capacity of up to 170 tons.
The platform trailers derive from the well-approved Inter Combi series of Scheuerle, the manufacturer of specialty vehicles in Pfedelbach. Equipped with the most up-to-date pendulum axle technology, the heavy duty fifth wheel combination allows the highest flexibility despite its enormous length. This is due to the extreme steering angle of 60° on the pendulum axles, which is an essential advantage when moving on the winding roads at site in Sicily. After all, the fifth wheel combination with truck tractor and extended excavator deck has an overall length of over 34 m. The Southern Italian customer is specialized in the transportation of heavy duty appliances, such as construction machinery or industrial installations.
For SCHEUERLE, the delivery of this heavy duty transport combination to Sicily represents the continuation of a long-term, favourable relationship on the Italian market.
