Heavy load forwarders SC Transchim SA in Bucharest, Romania, have taken delivery of a new semi-trailer combination from the InterCombi series from SCHEUERLE. Consisting of a goose neck, 3-axle advance unit, loading deck and 5-axle bogie unit, the heavy load unit has been designed to handle a payload of around 130 tons in connection with a 4-axle truck tractor.
The bogie of the semi-trailer combination is mounted on proven SCHEUERLE pendulum axle technology which provides a steering angle of up to 60 degrees for optimal cornering. This is supported by the very precise counter-hydraulic steering system.
The loading deck, which is taken from the extensive range of SCHEUERLE decks, has been designed as a telescopic excavator bridge for loads up to 130 tons. The loading length of this telescopic bridge can be extended from 7 metres up to a maximum of 11 metres in 500 millimetre increments. The connection to the triple-axle advance bogie unit is carried out by means of the proven InterCombi hook coupler. TWith this new vehicle, Transchim SA has yet another efficient and powerful special vehicle in its fleet, which will be used mainly for the transport of heavy construction machinery.
