The Catering Star of KAMAG was developed with the aim to offer a high-quality vehicle for airplane catering, which is efficient and reliable to the price-conscious group of buyers.
The basic vehicle is an "ATEGO" truck chassis of DaimlerChrysler in the total weight class of 13 to 15 tons. All superstructure elements and components are fixed in bolted version to assure high quality in general. The setting of a half cab will already be arranged by the producer in the appropriate quality.
The body is fully plastic made for easy and safe use. It answers the hygienic requirements according to HACCP. All wall panels are fully plastic made and connected together with the modern binding technology. The floor is equipped with a non-skid and abrasion resistant "Mulitfloor-cover" , especially made for rolling containers. It is extremely resistant and can be kept clean easily.
The stainless steel portal gives the body a professional appearance. Those portals are now mainly used for modern vehicles in the food industry.
A smoothly operating and isolated sliding door in the width of the body for loading and unloading is included in our serial delivery program. Our program includes as well one side-door with a window to get in and out safely. On request it is also possible to obtain a further ISO-sliding door at the back with a width of 1.300 mm. A rotating anchor bar makes sure that the payload is secure. The side walls are protected by an integrated plastic fender base.
The adjustable service platform can easily be put into the required position by a 2-way-regulation system and supports so a fast and smooth use.
The cooling system of the body is also made for high economic efficiency. The refrigerant compressor is driven by the Diesel engine of the truck. The evaporator in the body is charged over hose lines. Like that there are no additional costs for tanking up and service maintenance of the cooling system engine.
The designers of the CateringsStar also considered future operations: if the user decided to buy the basic equipment, additional equipment can be fixed afterwards because of the bolting technology. To mention one of all the possibilities: a complete cooling system or a cross cover can be expanded from the body to the ramp. If the infrastructure requires, it is also possible to get a permit to drive on public roads.
There is another advantage for the CateringStar in AfterSales and in the purchase of parts: All parts that are relevant for the truck can be obtained from the spare-parts stock of a local Daimler Chrysler distributor, also the components of half-cabs. Like that the user has access to the international service network of Daimler Chrysler.
The CateringStar of KAMAG is the right vehicle for the price-conscious buyer. Because of the high demand for this type of vehicle KAMAG already built up a stock of the Catering Star. Like that KAMAG is able to satisfy the high demand quickly. From February 2006 the Catering Stars will already be equipped with Euro 4-Engines.
