Top Visit from Qatar to KAMAG in Ulm
Sheikh with Delegation Buys Special Vehicles for Steel Works
His Excellency, Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Chief Executive of the Qatar Steel Company has bought two slag pot carriers from the Ulm special vehicle manufacturer, KAMAG Transporttechnik. The vehicles are to be used at the Qatar Steel Company to transport the liquid slag produced during steel smelting.
Together with those colleagues in charge of the project, Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al-Thani paid a personal visit to Ulm to find out about progress being made to his slag pot carriers which were ordered at the start of the year. After many months of construction, the two special vehicles are off on their journey from Ulm to the Arabian Peninsular Qatar. There, they will begin their explosive transport task and shift liquid slag with temperatures up to 1,300 degrees from the smelting oven to the slag deposit area. KAMAG has already supplied a slag pot carrier to this steel works in the past. The two new vehicles have now been procured in the course of the current expansion of production capacities at the steel works; each can transport up to 50 tonnes of the dangerous load.
