Transport in shipyards and the off-shore sector with vehicles from KAMAG
For transportation in dockyards or the off-shore industry, KAMAG offers a wide selection of vehicles to meet a broad range of requirements. From self-propelled shipyard transporters through to the well-known modular transporter of the 2400 series, KAMAG offers a full product range to cover all transportation tasks. From small sections up to mega blocks, individual components through to complete oil production platforms weighing 15,000 tonnes and more, vehicles from KAMAG reliably and safely transport their loads to their points of use.
Shipyard Transporter: 1400 and 1400S Series
For transporting ship sections, KAMAG offers platform elevating trucks from the 1400 series. From the 2-axle transporter for small sections up to the
10-axle mega block transporter which can be coupled together, KAMAG is
in a position to provide the most suitable transport vehicle. As standard, the transporters have been designed for a load of 32 tonnes per pendulum axle while the ”S” version offers 38 tonnes per axle. Thus, a nine-axle "S”-class KAMAG section transporter, for example, can carry a payload of around 590 tonnes. The core element is formed by the electronically-controlled bogie units which allow precise steering movements even when under full load. The control electronics system, developed by KAMAG, is based on decades of experience and has been designed to provide the highest possible ease of use and reliability. In order to allow optimal manoeuvrability even in the tightest of spaces as well, not only does the programme feature standard and diagonal drive but an electronic steering program for crab and transverse along with circle drive is available which permits turning around the centre of the vehicle.
Modular Transporter: 2400 Series
The 2400 series transporters from KAMAG combine all those features which guarantee success in the challenging heavy transport business: reliability, extreme loading capacity, the latest control technology, safe operations along with proven and continuously-loaded components. The tried and tested control electronics originate from the team of electronic specialists in KAMAG´s development department. It carries the signature of highly specialized experts who have decades of experience in control technology.
With an overall width of 2,430 mm, the KAMAG modular transporter is easy and simple to transport, and thus the ideal combination unit for international operations. The axle load of 40 tonnes per axle line offers an optimal payload ratio and is an advantage regarding use around the world as the technical design of the vehicles has ensured that serial components such as tyres can be used. KAMAG modular transporters are among the most powerful and high-performance heavy load vehicles on the market. Vehicle combinations are not only used in shipyards and the off-shore sector, but also in many other areas of
industry such as the construction of wind power plants or petrochemical facilities.
