TANOS, systainer® manufacturer from Illertissen, Germany, and Blåkläder, Swedish specialist for workwear, share a common vision: to make the working day of tradespeople more mobile, more ergonomic and more straightforward. With the innovative Systainer³/Blåkläder ToolRig, the two companies now present a joint, modular tool-carrying system that combines their respective competencies in a revolutionary way. Designed as a mobile transport and workwear solution, the ToolRig system enables users to carry tools and accessories directly on their person, organise them with maximum flexibility – and integrate them seamlessly into the systainer® case system. This gives tradespeople complete freedom to configure, adapt and switch their tool setup in just a few steps, depending on the task, environment or personal preference.
Tools rest securely at the hip, accessories are neatly sorted in belt pouches, leaving your hands free – and preparing for the next task takes only a few movements. With the modular carrying system ToolRig, Blåkläder and TANOS bring a transport and workwear solution to the job site that brings together tool pouches, belts, workwear, workshop organisation and Systainer³ integration in a single workflow. Plus, thanks to standardised interfaces, the system is ready for use in just a few clicks.
Mobility on rails
The new solution is impressively user-friendly: at its heart is an innovative rail system that allows the ToolRig tool pouches to be positioned flexibly around the wearer's waist. Adjustable sliders guarantee 360-degree flexibility, while a practical click mechanism ensures that pouches can be securely attached and quickly released at any time. This not only reduces unnecessary physical strain on users, but also minimises time lost searching for equipment. The ToolRig system truly realises its full potential through the collaboration between Blåkläder and TANOS. The "SysRail" piping frame transfers the innovative workwear rail system to the systainer® storage solution. The specially developed frame can be integrated tool-free into any standard Systainer³ 187 with M-Footprint. Up to four tool pouches can then be hooked into the system case simultaneously and released again with a single movement – ideal for tradespeople who switch between stationary and mobile tasks and rely on maximum freedom of movement.
Pouches, boxes and accessories offer flexibility in everyday working life
The pouches are versatile companions for joiners, carpenters, electricians, and plumbing, heating, and cooling installers. Equipped with a variety of pockets, loops, and straps, these textile storage solutions can be loaded with tools for a range of working scenarios. When combined with the padded, adjustable belts, trousers and braces of the ToolRig system, they provide lasting ergonomic relief and a higher level of comfort during mobile assembly work.
For maximum transport flexibility, TANOS complements the textile storage solutions with insert boxes developed specifically for the ToolRig system. These fit precisely into the rail system and offer ample space for accessories and small parts such as screws, drill bits and consumables. At the same time, they leave enough room to store the relevant tools within easy reach inside the case. The containers' multi-functionality is particularly practical as they can accommodate existing sorting trays from the systainer® system family as well as many standard screw packaging boxes from well-known manufacturers. A total of three insert containers fit side by side in the Systainer³ M. If required, the boxes can also be freely combined with the tool pouches on the piping frame.
A collaboration for the trades
With the new ToolRig system, TANOS and Blåkläder address the modern mobility and ergonomic needs of tradespeople. Martin Svedberg, Product Development Manager at Blåkläder, sums up the core objective: "ToolRig was developed to meet the practical needs of today’s tradespeople, technicians and construction professionals. Our goal was to create a system that improves comfort, reduces downtime and supports individual working methods – and that works in reality: from the body to transport and the workshop." It is an approach that TANOS, the systainer® manufacturer from Illertissen, shares, and one that formed the foundation for the unique collaboration between the Swedish workwear specialist and the German system case manufacturer. Christof Grumpelt, Product Manager at TANOS, adds: "With the new ToolRig system, we give hands-on users entirely new possibilities to transport tools safely and organise them flexibly within a single workflow."
Joint market launch — individual focus areas
The joint ToolRig system will be available from Blåkläder and TANOS. The Swedish manufacturer is launching the new workwear solution as both a standalone product and in combination with matching workwear. TANOS, for its part, focuses on workflow-optimised sets. The system case specialist will offer the ToolRig portfolio in combination with selected Systainer³ configurations from Autumn 2026.
